Lead Instructional Designer: Your Opportunity to Utilize your Digital Expertise.
Primary duties of this innovative role will include the following:
Manages assigned academic partner relationships for instructional design needs.
Develops and maintains consistent course models, standards, multimedia guidelines, and templates for assigned academic partners and stores documentation of each in a central repository.
Works closely with the business units to keep abreast of academic partner needs and to ensure common initiatives across functional departments.
Attends business unit meetings (as needed) and regularly presents thorough oral and written status reports to the business units and academic partners.
Leads the university ID teams in the development of new, revision, and revamp courses according to a common set of university standards and partner needs.
Runs monthly university ID team meetings to update IDs on partner course development initiatives.
Prepares presentational materials for academic partner workshops and business unit meetings.
Attends and presents at meetings and workshops with academic partners. (Up to 15% non-local travel may be required.)
Interfaces directly with academic partner Program Directors to set initiatives, escalate faculty-related course development issues, and proactively address partner needs.
Handles escalation of partner issues, content delays, etc. to the Embanet-Compass Directors/VPs and partner?s Managing Director; mediates when courses are upgraded unexpectedly by the academic partner faculty from Revision to Revamp.
Manages the development and revision of academic partners? orientation courses.
Confirms faculty assignments and introduces Embanet-Compass IDs in course kick-off calls.
Assists academic partners with accreditation and curriculum planning/development initiatives.
Researches, implements, and leads emerging technology initiatives for partners programs.
Works with Project Managers to ensure that schedules reflect an accurate course development process, time lines are being met, Wrike is up to date, and IDs are providing thorough status reports.
Attends and represents the Course Development department during academic partner steering committee meetings, as applicable.
Assists in developing evaluation tools for assessing effectiveness of courses within partner programs; sends course evaluation results to faculty and Program Directors.
Leads course hand-off meetings with the Student Support Services and Help Desk teams, ensuring that appropriate documentation and training has been provided to support courses.
Schedules post course conference calls with Program Director and faculty.
Updates Milestone Schedule B for Client Services, Finance Dept, Clients, etc; notifies of faculty progress to spark payments.
Qualifications
Knowledge of adult learning principles, constructivism, facilitation, and learner-centered activities
Ability to provide instructional design consulting services to subject matter experts
Minimum of a bachelor degree in education or a related degree; master?s degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience in instructional design with experience in designing authentic assessments and generative learning experiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in learning management systems and html
Ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative in course design
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, adhere to budgets, and meet deadlines
Exceptionally strong attention to detail.
Comfort in working within project management applications
