HMS is looking for an innovative exceptional Lead Developer with enthusiasm for leading a team to help finish building out our new SaaS Big Data platform.As a member of the Technology Team, the Lead Developer needs to be self motivated and comfortable leading other highly skilled professionals in a fast paced environment. They are expected to participate in the full development life cycle including the planning and design, and be able to demonstrate technical expertise in several core technologies.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead small teams of developers to build and extend systems on time and with features fully implemented
Design new features and extensions to existing systems in collaboration with Architects and Senior Developers
Create software development plans and schedules from requirements
Develop deep technical knowledge of multiple HMS systems, core technologies, and associated business processes
Review code checkins of direct reports and pull requests from other teams
Participate in software design reviews of other teams
Maintain and support production systems
Mentor Developers and Senior Developers on the team
Establish career plans and conducting performance reviews for direct reports
Coordinate with Director Development, Scrum Masters, QA Leads, and Infrastructure Leads
Participate in evaluation of new technologies and knowledge transfer
Required Qualifications:
Experience leading small teams of developers to successfully deliver on scope and schedule of complex software releases
7 or more years industry experience building high performing, reliable, scalable software services on a SOA
Experience building systems that process large datasets
Proficient in Java 1.7 and familiar with other development languages like Ruby
Working knowledge of Linux, Maven, Eclipse, Jenkins, GIT, or equivalent technologies
Excellent communication skills and productive working on Scrum teams
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Open-Source Big Data technologies like Cassandra, Hadoop, Storm
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
Experience using Scrum and other agile software development methodologies
