We are seeking a Lead Patient Services Representative. Under supervision perform a variety of customer service and clerical support tasks. Demonstrate InSight?s Patients First customer service principals to every patient and customer.
Examples of Essential Functions:
Monitors workload and performance of patient service representatives. Monitor the staff to insure they are adhering to InSight?s Patient First customer service program.
Assist in hiring and training new patient service representatives
Assist manager with annual performance reviews.
Performs preventive maintenance on all office equipment and reports all problems or breakdowns immediately to the supervisor..
Screens in-coming mail and eliminates unnecessary correspondence.
Ability to perform all PSR job duties.
May perform daily center banking function to include accurate completion of daily cash logs, bank deposit, and all receipts. Includes daily scanning reconciliation.
Solely handles all attorney requests and correspondence.
Report reconciliation.
Overlooking and monitoring close task.
Assist office manager in follow up on cancellations.
Back up or additional support for obtaining pre-certification for referring offices.
Reviewing the next day or weekend packets to insure insurance verification is loaded properly, scripts are obtained and correct, and any other misc. work up is completed.
Requirements
Candidates must have:
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 3 years of previous experience in a customer service role.
Previous experience in a medical office or medical insurance office
setting.
Demonstrate ability to train staff in patient services functions.
Advanced knowledge of insurance processes.
Internal candidates must be knowledgeable of PSR job duties.
Desirable:
Associate degree in healthcare or other related field.
Experience in a medical setting with lead responsibilities.
Read, interpret, communicate and understand an applicable second language.
Knowledge:
Basic key boarding and computer knowledge.
Customer service principles and techniques.
Medical office procedures.
Office filing and record keeping techniques.
Skills/Abilities:
Positive approach to learning new skills.
Multi-tasking skills.
Type accurately at a rate of 25 wpm.
Operate standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, copiers, scanners and facsimile equipment.
Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with deadlines and time constraints.
Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers.
Ability to function as a positive team member.
Understand the confidentiality of patient records.
Understand cash handling and control techniques.
Problem solving and organization skills.
Decision making and training skills.
Special Requirements/Certification:
Flexibility to work split shifts and weekends depending upon position assignment.
