The Lead Performance Engineer will be responsible for establishing application performance standards for Cvent's large-scale, cloud-based web applications. This person will drive the speed and stability of the software through coordinated efforts with the Product Development and Operations teams to meet performance standards. The position requires that the Lead Performance Engineer can effectively lead and participate in cross-functional meetings, clearly articulate project risk, and provide concise recommendations to the Development and Operations teams in addition to other stakeholders.
Utilize performance and load testing methodologies to improve and measure product quality by identifying potential bottlenecks and system performance problems.
Develop test scripts to properly load / stress the system in a test environment, and monitor, debug performance, and stability problems.
Forecast and project system load levels, and determine load / stress test methods to test the system to projected load levels.
Partner with the Development and Operations teams to analyze system components and performance to identify needed changes in the application design & production environment.
Make recommendations to further establish product performance guidelines and grow the Product Performance team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Masters degree desired.
7+ years of experience with performance testing and methodologies using automated testing tools is an absolute must.
4+ years of experience performing stress testing on large-scale, cloud-based web applications and thorough knowledge of web-based architecture is required.
Qualified candidates will understand the product development life cycle, from initial specifications through development, testing, and deployment.
Self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, team-building attitude. Must be able to provide technical leadership to other members of the technology team and to projects under test.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to successfully liaison with cross-functional groups. Should be able to quickly assess requirements of a project, set performance goals and assess the scope of a project.
Must have experience in analyzing performance test data.
Must have experience in reporting test results to different functional groups and external and internal clients.
