General Summary:
The Lead Product Analyst Medicare works on the Product Development team to analyze, design, and support Connectures software product platform. The Lead Product Analyst Medicare must have experience within leading product software implementations, software release schedules, and on-going software support. Detailed understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) is also required including: requirements definition and development, design specifications, solution development and testing, support, and training. This position reports directly to the Product Development Director. The Lead Product Analyst will assume lead level responsibility as it pertains to overseeing work efforts of resources. This position is a highly visible role with the organization and works closely with the Professional Services and Product Engineer teams.
This position will focus on Connectures Medicare product offerings and requires an in depth knowledge of the Medicare markets for commercial plans. The position focuses rules, regulations, and workflows associated with sales, marketing, enrollment and member retention for Medicare.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Define future product requirements by researching existing client needs, Connecture subject matter expert knowledge, competitive products, industry trends, and industry standards.
Actively participate in development activities including writing product requirements and specifications, and ensuring that new development matches these stated requirements.
Lead research and analysis on assigned projects to translate business and market needs into requirements.
Create product requirement and functional design documentation (use cases, screen designs, and logic/workflow) for new product features and enhancements.
Work with Product Engineering to translate functional documentation into product technical specifications.
Lead functional specification reviews.
Lead design walkthroughs.
Support QA certification for the product release.
Communicate current and upcoming product features to Sales and Sales Engineering as well as the Client Services teams delivering product to clients.
Train Client Services in product roadmap features and client business benefits.
Encourage process improvement within the product development organization.
Support the Sales and Sales Engineering teams with onsite demos and product walkthroughs.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
3-7 years of experience with assisting with internet/web, desktop, Client/Server system development and support.
2+ years of enterprise software product development experience.
5+ years background in Medicare field.
Understanding of Medicare rules and regulations and CMS compliance process.
Deep knowledge of Medicare programs including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medi-gap and Prescription Drug Plans.
Detailed knowledge of the software development life cycle.
Experience writing detailed use cases and designing web based user interfaces.
Highly competent with Word, Excel, Visio.
Strong logic, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Advanced interpersonal skills to coordinate major activities.
Must have excellent writing skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills and confident in presenting before peers and customers. Experienced in presenting to large customers and sales organizations.
Strong sense of initiative and quality of detail.
Ability to assess complex situations and provide creative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Occasional travel required to support new sales and existing clients.
Other Preferred Skills and Experience:
5+ years leading internal product areas including product support for defect identification and remedy as well as product upgrade planning, estimating, and implementation.
5+ years of prior business / IS experience within health insurance, general healthcare or general insurance.
2+ years of prior product management experience.
Software programming and design/architecture skills.

Undergraduate business or technical degree
