DESCRIPTION
The Lead QA Engineer will be responsible for the technical oversight, coordination and test execution of applications on the NetSpend Application Development team. The ideal candidate will coordinate, develop, document and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases for a complex and highly-scalable commerce platform. The candidate will coordinate the quality process from design through release in a fast-paced environment and will work closely with developers to identify and resolve issues before production release. An ideal candidate will be a proven leader of his or her peers with deep hands-on QA expertise and a history of implementing positive change to an existing software product development organization. NetSpend is looking for proven technical leaders to take our quality to the next level.
Responsibilities:
Review user stories and analyze features for addition to the NetSpend product suite
Develop and execute manual and automated test strategies in an Agile environment
Develop and document test plans, test cases, SQL scripts and automation scripts based on user stories
Document and execute regression, functional and integration tests
Document and track software failures
Mentor and guide fellow team members on best practices and new test strategies
Work with leadership to define and improve software quality best practices and processes
Work with developers and QA team members to resolve outstanding issues
Support ongoing work to automate and document QA regression testing
Skills/Education/Experience:
8+ years experience as a QA engineer
Familiarity with Java, Web and Mobile applications
Strong working knowledge of Unix environments and enterprise systems
Strong up-to-date knowledge of QA processes as well as scripting, test automation creation and backend DB testing
Extensive Agile/Scrum development process background
Knowledge of Oracle 11g, test automation tools and extensive QA test methodology expertise
Ability to interact with development team to identify and resolve bugs
Ability to develop test plans and cases using business requirements
Ability to verify and tune Oracle PL/SQL
BS in CS preferred but not required
Java development experience is helpful
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to embrace change
