Lead QA Engineer Panasas
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Panasas is looking for storage software Lead QA Engineer to work on Storage Technology Products. The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining software test suites and test tools for file systems testing and coordinating with multi-disciplined project groups to achieve their goals. This position requires a highly competent, results-oriented, self-directed software testing professional with strong scripting background and passion in finding bugs. Senior candidates with pertinent skill sets will be considered for this role.
Lead Quality Assurance Engineers are expected to be able to work with a variety of development environments and operating systems (Unix, Linux). Applicants should be proficient in testing methodologies, programming and scripting languages, and various automation techniques. Past experience testing Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions is necessary to be a candidate for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review requirements, design documents and drive for clarity, and create test plans
Work hand in hand with development to understand and provide test solutions for wide range of complex problems
Mentor other test engineers and take the technical leadership role on specific projects
Responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of thorough requirements-based testing, in accordance with test plan specifications.
Review existing test suites to find any testing gaps and drive the development and execution of these tests to find bugs that of high impact in product quality and ensure proper test coverage
Submission of detailed bug reports which provide enough debug information for the development teams to quickly resolve all product defects.
Assist in the development of tools which will be used to improve our test automation infrastructure.
Ensure that work meets or exceeds project performance, reliability, and quality goals.
8+ years QA experience
3+ years of work experience in leading NAS solutions testing or Enterprise Storage Devices testing
Ability to work independently and to lead small project team to achieve focused testing goals
Strong programming experience in one or more of these languages: Python, Tcl/Tk, C, Perl
Experience in testing Unix file system, storage, data protection paradigms or disaster recovery solutions: Snapshot, replication, mirroring, RAID and backup/restore;
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPv4/v6, SNMP, NFS, pNFS or CIFS and associated environments
Unix /Linux/FreeBSD/Window system administration skills highly desired
Strong analytical and communication skills
Thorough understanding of Software Development and QA processes, principles, and techniques
Experience with Perforce as well as coding background in C or C++ a plus
BS in Computer Science or equivalent
