Lead Quality Assurance Engineer Netuitive

Netuitive, Inc., the leading provider of self-learning performance management software is expanding its Quality Assurance organization. To sustain our growth, we are seeking talented individuals to test and validate third party system management product integration to our Netuitive products.This position requires hands on experience with VMware, Java-based technologies, Java programming language and scripting languages (e.g., Perl, PHP, and VBScript) and a solid working knowledge of databases (MSSQL, Oracle). Prior knowledge of performance monitoring is highly desirable. The ideal candidate would have experience with various testing methodologies such as web-based testing, data driven testing, backend testing, automation testing and unit testing. Preference will be given to candidates who have formal Java programming background. Candidates must be motivated team players with the ability to work in a hands-on, dynamic environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a person looking to work in a superior software development organization. This is a full-time position based out of our Reston, VA office.
Primary Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to:
Lead the test automation team, train and mentor other team members on testing fundamentals and test automation
Design, develop and maintain manual and automation test plans, test cases and test reports
Build automated test infrastructure and establish coding guidelines and automation best practices
Design and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Grid, Jmeter, Junit
Configure and schedule nightly automation test runs using Jenkins, Selenium build system
Configure and maintain Test Lab, test machines and databases using the Virtualization technology. Maintain and administer QA Lab, QA test repository tool ? Testlink
Develop an in-depth and thorough understanding of our products, features and services and how the customers use them
Ensure test plans and schedules are executed appropriately using a combination of both manual and automated testing
Evaluate progress for test efforts on a regular basis. Communicate issues and risks to project teams and management on timely basis, submit automated and manual test reports to upper management
Technical Expertise
Required Skills:
6-8 years of experience in testing Java based Enterprise Level Web based products. Hands on knowledge of manual and automated regression testing, system level testing, integration testing, black box and white box testing, performance testing, security testing and cross browser compatibility testing tools and techniques
Experienced breaking down new features/stories and designing new manual and automated test cases
Strong experience identifying backend test scenarios and writing SQL queries. Experience with RDBMS like SQL Server and Oracle
5-7 years of programming experience using Java. Experience developing automated test scripts to validate cross browser compatibility, performance and security.
Hands on experience with open source QA automation tools. Experience with Selenium RC and Webdriver and Selenium Grid is a must.
Experience working in a VMware environment
Experience with defect tracking tool such as Jira and ability to report clear and effective bugs
Ability to work in an Agile Software Development Environment. Familiarity with Scrum Agile Process is required
Hands on test lab management experience is a must - create test machines, install software, take backups, recover databases, upgrade test machines and test repository tool - testlink
Personal Qualifications
The candidate is required to have a College degree in a computer-related discipline. This is a mid to senior-level QA Engineer position requiring 6-8 years of prior relevant experience. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate the following:

Hands-on development experience with dedication to quality and customer service
Proven effectiveness in small team environments
Ability to learn new technologies and software quickly
Excellent communication skills. The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand
