Description The Receiving Supervisor will oversee all aspects of receiving products and supervise a team of 2 to 3 receivers. He or she will inspect product upon delivery for quality, quantity and temperature control. They will manage invoices including sign and date upon receipt of inventory. The invoices and packing slips will be promptly delivered to the office for processing. The Receiving Supervisor will check every price vs. purchasing tool and highlight any difference. This individual will manage correct and orderly storage of all products in all storage areas according to the Revolution Foods HACCP program and rotate all products according to FIFO. The She or he will manage inventory of the dry storage, walk in and freezer. This includes the labeling of all products per Revolution Foods standards. The Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for recording weekly inventory, and will conduct inventory counts on items as directed by Director of Operations. This supervisor will be responsible for moving product from the appropriate storage facilities based on the needs of the operations, for example freezer to walk-in to defrost product. The candidate is responsible for accurately recording and removing all waste from all areas of the kitchen by the end of each day. The Receiving Supervisor will support kitchen production as directed by the Director of Operations. They will assist the Director of Operations with simple purchasing task. The Receiving Supervisor will be in charge of pick up at cold storage and will call to the suppliers. He or she will assure receiving team executes all Revolution Foods receiving procedure and directives from Director of Operations.
Requirements
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supervise receiving team of up to 2-3 people.
Conducts daily/weekly meetings with staff.
Establish a culture of respect, hard work, consistency and effective communication with all team members.
Safety and Food Quality Ensuring all incoming product meets all Revolution Foods quality standards.
Follows established receiving procedures and is responsible for food storage according to HACCP program and health applicable regulations.
Maintains FIFO food rotation practices and alerts Director of Operations to upcoming expiration dates.
Maintains freezer log at all times.
Effectively communicates to Management any issues or concerns that may affect food safety or quality.
Supports preventive maintenance on all equipment and advises management when repair or maintenance is needed.
Adhere to company developed Good Manufacturing Practices by maintaining a clean, organized, hazardous free work station.
Maintains consistency in food quality standards.
Ability to learn and execute the operation of kitchen equipment in a safe, efficient manner. Observe a safety first environment.
Complies with all state Health and Safety codes.
Records inventory level of items as and when specified by the Director of Operations, including end of week inventory.
Manages all invoices and packing slips ? records if items not delivered and ensures office receives all invoices and packing slips promptly.
Cross-checking prices of each invoice vs. Purchasing Tool and highlight any differences.
Manages food waste program ? daily recording of waste level and removal of waste from all kitchen areas.
In charge of release and will calls orders.
Purchasing Assist with purchasing tasks as specified by Director of Operations
Follows all company policy and procedures as outlined in the Employee handbook.
Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner.
Abide by the company ?Green? waste, compost and recycling program.
Qualifications:
1-2 years culinary experience in a busy food service environment.
Experience in fork lift operation, certification a plus.
Previous experience managing inventory with proven accuracy.
Ability to work independently while communicating inventory needs to management.
Previous experience in a high volume flight kitchen or school feeding operation a plus.
Able to lift 50 pounds and physically perform requirements of job.
Serve Safe certification a plus.
Strong attention to detail with ability to read English with good math skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work well with others and participate as part of a team.
