Lead/Senior Applications Engineer Streetline Networks
Streetline is looking for a Lead/Senior Applications Engineer to be responsible for the design, development and implementation of Streetline?s Enterprise and Consumer-facing applications.Streetline?s systems span embedded sensor hardware, mesh networking, and signal processing all the way up to Cloud-based SaaS/web and mobile user applications ? this position calls for very strong applications thinking, technical breadth and creative innovations well beyond the typical web or desktop applications.
At Streetline, we are realizing the promise of sensor networks to revolutionize how cities are run. Streetline deploys Cloud-based SaaS solutions with robust sensing using mesh sensor networks to provide real-time parking applications to cities and direct drivers to available parking spots in real-time through mobile devices on the iPhone and Android platforms.
Requirements:
Developed usable, responsive applications in Ruby on Rails or other robust platforms that are recognized best in class.
Proficiency in HTML/JavaScript/CSS/JQuery/AJax
Experience with UI frameworks (such as RoR and a broad set of Ruby tools and gems) is desired as well as knowledge of mapping tools and services such as Google Maps.
A track record of solid UI design and software development in RoR or other languages should be clearly evident
Strong fundamentals in data structures and object-oriented design
Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
Preferred Experience/Education:
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, Java, PERL or Python
MySQL and Linux experience are also desirable for this role
At least 5+ years of experience in software development
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
