About the PositionThe Software Engineer Lead will be a leading member of the global team driving the development of world-class mobile and speech recognition applications, framework components, and delivery tools that impact millions of consumers interacting with major enterprises around the globe. A computer science or related degree, 5+ years in software development, ability to own and lead software solutions from start to end, capability to learn new technologies and processes, and good communication skills are vital to your success.
As a Software Engineer Lead at 247, you will apply computer science and engineering skills to the development of pioneering mobile, voice, and web applications. You will be part of a team of senior software industry veterans, and, through clear thinking and hard work, should achieve much success while contributing to tools, applications and libraries.
Responsibilities
?Participate in the analysis, design, development, and debugging of software applications, libraries and tools.
?Design and deliver applications as part of cross-functional teams that include client management, voice/mobile UI design, and QA.
?Write design specifications for application modules.
?Implement and enhance sophisticated real-time enterprise data integrations.
?Design and implement data management solutions that support scalable, highly performing systems.
?Work within a modern web services and DBMS environment to ensure 247?s applications and support staff have reliable and accurate data supplied to them at all times.
?Lead technical communications with other teams, both internal and external.
Requirements
?Degree in Computer Science or related field
?5+ years of software development experience
?3+ Java design and development
?Experience with web services technology and standards and best practices (i.e., SOAP, REST, etc)
?Ability to write SQL queries and design schemas in relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle
?Experience with web application development (e.g. JavaScript, GWT, PHP, JSP, HTML, Ruby)
?Solid communications skills, both written and verbal
?Development lead experience in a SaaS or packaged software company
?Familiarity with XML
Pluses
?Experience with any form of mobile app development (iOS, Android, etc.)
?Experience with Web 2.0 technologies (e.g., HTML5, Ajax, GWT)
?Familiarity with speech recognition technology
?Experience with web UI implementation and refinement
?Shell scripting experience
