Job Summary and Responsibilities
We're seeking a lead software engineer (LSE) to lead a small Agile team. Working closely with a Product Manager, the LSE will map requirements and plan and execute sprints with the team. Leadership experience and serial experience successfully executing a development plan are essential. Expert-level tenacity debugging Linux systems in a service oriented architecture is a must. This individual will play a critical role developing our core products, from architecture to deployment. The successful candidate will:
- Analyze technical and business requirements
- Assemble and motivate there team
- Select appropriate data structures, design patterns, and algorithms, while leveraging our existing systems and maintaining fault tolerance and high availability
- Lead development, check in code, and mentor by example
- Spearhead deployment and iteration planning
Requirements
- Extensive GNU/Linux based development experience
- Expert configuring and implementing scalable solutions on the LAMP-stack, with either PHP
- Extensive experience building solutions with Java or C++, Maven or Ant, and an IDE like Eclipse
- Experience with J2EE and Thrift a plus
- Some NoSQL exposure
- More than a passing familiarity with Javascript and a framework like jQuery.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Bachelor of Science in computer science or electrical engineering, or equivalent
