MarketLive is looking for a bright, motivated Lead Support Engineer for the Product Development group. As the Lead Support Engineer you will own the Support Engineering process for MarketLive. This team investigates issues with MarketLive?s released software and is responsible for creating patches and workarounds that are released to customer sites. The team is also responsible for ensuring that those defects are corrected on trunk so they will be released with the next version of the software.This is a technical position that also requires the successful candidate to be able to manage the sustaining engineering process. It requires interaction with the client delivery and support teams to manage escalations and deliver high quality fixes. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing and fixing issues within all aspects of the application code. This position leads a team of 5 developer and QA resources in India so team leadership skills are desired and experience with working with Offshore teams is a strong plus.
Our eCommerce platform is a highly scalable, multi-threaded Java application that is built on Spring, Struts, Tiles and Hibernate. We are using MongoDB, RabbitMQ and SOLR. The successful candidate will be working with all of these technologies as we evolve and develop our application.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years experience as a software developer, at least 2 years development in Java
Strong, demonstrable development skills in Java utilizing development frameworks like Spring and Hibernate
Familiarity with web services (especially restful services using JAX-RS)
Familiarity with web frameworks like Struts or SpringWeb
Familiarity with HTML
Strong knowledge of web application security
Unix administration skills
Relational database skills (Oracle preferred)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
BSCS or equivalent required
Desired:
Experience working in a SaaS or PaaS environment
Strong skills in JavaScript (especially using JQuery) a strong plus
Experience working with JavaScript, MongoDB, RabbitMQ a strong plus
Experience debugging large scale web applications
Experience working in an agile development methodology, preferably Kanban
Experience leading a team of developers a plus
Experience working with Offshore teams desired
Environmental:
The job demands a capacity for sustained, independent work. The preferred candidate would be full time at either our facility in Petaluma, CA or Pleasanton, CA. However, we are open to remote work for the exemplary candidate.
