Lean Director - Oil & Gas SSA & Company
We are looking for outstanding candidates to help support the growth of our firm. We are seeking Lean practitioners to join our Oil & Gas practice in North America. We are looking for Full Time Director level Consultants to provide mentoring and coaching to our client, and in execution roles working with middle management in developing their lean capability.
Work with Managing Director and/or Senior Director to identify project opportunities that positively impact the client?s financial performance and develop the execution plan
Work with the SSA and client execution team to implement the roll out of the execution plan
Ensure that the work provided is consistent with the firm?s domain expertise and beliefs and is delivered with high-impact, tangible results
Develop leaders for leading continuous change and innovation (nemawashi, innovation techniques, point A/ B tension/ target setting, engage/ challenge organization)
Continuous improvement through coaching of core values/ lean principles, a Lean Daily Management System with accountability at all levels, Toyota Kata routine
Coaching for problem solving (A3 Thinking/ Management) and development of others for problem solving
Practical problem solving using Toyota?s 8-Step Problem Solving process
Horizontal replication/ scaling of improvements/ standards across platform operations (yokoten practices)
Direct observation of work, work design for improvement and application of Rules-In-Use
Coach applicable TPS tools for rapid improvement where needed such as Value Stream Improvement, TPM, 5S, Visual management, Leader Standard Work, Standardized work and work-load balancing, Andon system/ rapid response, etc.
Reshaping existing learning modules to reflect the new standards of TPM, Standard Work, Leader Standard Work, Problem Solving/ and A3 Management, Andon/ Rapid Response, Replication and Daily Improvement and support testing and piloting of each learning module
10+ years of experience working in a successful lean company in a hands-on position with a mix of consulting and active leadership roles within that company
Ability to develop lean leaders for leading CI and innovation
Ability to develop tension, targets, and foster engagement of leaders
Ability to sustain CI through coaching of the lean values and principles in a Lean Daily Management system with accountability up and down the chain of command
Proven success developing and sustaining lean principles ? coaching core lean principles/values ? learning by doing
Proven ability to use problem solving techniques ? specifically Toyota 8 step process coupled with demonstrated A3 thinking
Ability to coach applicable TPS tools ? VS improvement, TPM, 5S, visual management, leader standard work, standardized work, load balancing, andons/rapid response management, etc.
Prior demonstrated experience implementing a TPS based system in a lean company
Superior TPS tools knowledge and application
Experience with Oil & Gas upstream projects is preferred
Lean Master Certification a plus
Education: Engineering or Business Undergraduate degree required
Must be willing to operate offshore (7 days on / 7 off or 14 on / 14 off pattern)
