The Learning Management System Administrator (LCMSA) is responsible for day-to-day management and continuing operation of the Learning Management System (LCMS) and Content Maintenance to ensure seamless execution serving the learning needs of the organization and our customers; this includes serving as the front-line customer service resource to internal employees and customers. In addition to working closely with Instructional team members, he/she also acts as a liaison between the Program Manager and technical support.
The LCMSA will define, develop, maintain, and enforce documented training processes, procedures and practices related to the use and administration of the learning management system to ensure consistent and well-integrated database infrastructure.
Initially, this he/she will lead the effort to design, develop and implement the conversion from the customer's current learning platform to the new Learner Community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the following:
Provide support to the day-to-day and ongoing operation, maintenance, upgrades, usage, analysis and administration of the Learning Management System and Content.
Maintain all aspects of the client portal. This includes review of all postings for accuracy and appropriateness before approving and publishing to users, and. maintaining an accurate and up-to-date monthly training calendar and master course catalog.
Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP), best practices, and guidelines for the LCMS.
Collaborate with the IS and cross functional teams to inform, prepare, and assist in the review, testing, and implementation of all system upgrades or patches, and documenting the process, results, and outcomes.
Partner with the business partners and Program Manager to understand business needs related to training delivery and training documentation requirements and how the LCMS most effectively and efficiently meet those requirements.
Train customers on the functionality and processes of the LCMS
Provide updates and recommendations to Program Manager that will deliver a decrease in frequency and severity of LCMS issues reported by end users.
Monitor and test newly published/uploaded online courses, materials, and instructor-led workshops within the LCMS.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with course design, LCMS configuration, and infrastructure.
Research and resolve issues related to the LCMS.
Respond to email inquiries and telephone calls within defined standard, and respond to questions appropriately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Two+ (2+) years of experience with learning and/or performance systems administration, including relational databases
Experience working in a corporate or talent/learning development environment.
Experience working with Learning Content Management Systems
At least 2 years of experience using SQL and/or Microsoft Excel for the creation of reports and/or analytics.
Experience in database management and/or maintenance.
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with vendors.
Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
Strong organizational problem-solving and decision-making skills required.
Proven abilities in project management methodology and execution; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Learning Agility: Knowing what to do when you don?t know what to do.
Working knowledge of SCORM/AICC publishing.
