LED Device Design Engineer Luminus Devices
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED As a Device Design Engineer at Luminus, you will be responsible for developing and characterizing new or improved designs of high brightness LED?s and to support new product introduction efforts in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with team members in chip design, process, reliability, and packaging to develop next generation LED chips for general lighting, display, data projection, medical, entertainment and architectural lighting markets, to meet cost, performance, yield, and reliability targets.
Responsibilities shall include design, development and characterization of high efficiency high power LED?s via development of theoretical models of chip behavior, light extraction, and packaging considerations. Support theoretical designs by coordinating designed experiments involving epi, chip design/process and packaging with emphasis on quantitative analysis. Candidate must have good communication skills, excellent computer skills, be self-motivated with a ?can-do? attitude and must be able to effectively work within a team environment.
Qualifications for the position include a PhD in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or a related technical discipline. Must have expertise in optical device design and modeling, including theoretical and experimental expertise in doped optical materials, optical interfaces, and optical semiconductor materials. Also, should have experience with LED device characterization such as LIV, far-field, thermal resistance, uniformity, TLM and other aspects of test engineering. Experience with COMSOL modeling software and previous experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
