About Splunk Inc.
Splunk was founded to pursue a disruptive new vision: make machine data accessible, usable and valuable to everyone. Machine data is the fastest growing and most pervasive part of “big dataâ€-- generated by every component of IT infrastructures, applications, mobile phone location data, website click streams, social data, RFID, and much more. Traditional relational database management technologies such as Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft are not designed to collect, index, monitor, analyze and manage the massive real-time streams of machine data that organizations now generate every day. In March 2013, Fast Company magazine name Splunk the No. 4 most innovative company in the world and the No. 1 most innovative big data company.
Splunk helps businesses, universities, and governments meet the challenges and opportunities of managing massive machine data. Splunk now has over 5200 customers in over 90 countries. These organizations are using Splunk to harness the power of their machine data for application management, IT operations and infrastructure management, cyber security, compliance, web intelligence, business analytics and more. With Splunk, these organizations break down traditional data silos, achieve new levels of operational intelligence, and gain valuable insights.
Splunk software has become a platform for machine data. Over 200 Splunk apps have been developed by the Splunk community, including apps for partners including Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Microsoft and other technology leaders.
Splunk now has over 750 employees, with headquarters in San Francisco and 8 offices around the world. Splunk achieved $198.9 M in revenue in its last fiscal year. The Company completed a successful initial public offering in April 2012 and is now traded on NASDAQ.
Customers are incredibly evangelistic about Splunk. They often start by downloading the free version of Splunk, and quickly obtain tremendous value. Each quarter, over 300 organizations, across virtually every industry as well as government agencies and universities, have become new customers, and existing customers elect to move ahead with major expansions as they make Splunk the platform for their machine data.
Splunk has built a phenomenal foundation for success with a proven leadership team, highly passionate employees, and unique software. They are seeking individuals to help continue to drive and define a new industry and become part of one of the most innovative, disruptive and successful companies in the software industry.
