The Exceptions processor is responsible for the research and resolution of all exceptions received from the release/reconveyance processing team. Research includes the retrieval of missing mortgage data, verification of chain of title, and obtaining newly executed assignments from third parties as needed. Methods of research include contacting third parties, utilizing internet research sites and reviewing internally kept data that may produce the information needed to clear exceptions.
? Prioritize and work exceptions queue based on state/county compliance timeframes
? Research exceptions to provide missing data in relation to original mortgage information
? Research chain of title to verify assignment histories of mortgage loans
? Create new assignments and obtain executions from third parties as needed
? Receive and handle priority reports as provided by the team supervisor
? Communicate all findings with thorough notations for the processing team
? Provide reports to management regarding weekly production volumes
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements)
? Must be able to work in a fast-paced high-volume work environment
? Strong organizational skills
? Ability to analyze and resolve problems
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Motivated self-starter that has ability to work independently
? Understanding of recording guidelines, requirements, and regulatory statutes
? Knowledge of chain of title and various mortgage documents
Training and Experience
? 3+ years mortgage servicing experience required
? Experience with title curative, closing, post closing, and collateral documents
? Experience with data retrieval using the internet and/or additional resources
? Proficiency using MS Office applications
? Knowledge of the Fidelity system
