JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a lighting controls architect with proven experience in systems controls, sensing and LED luminaire development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Designs, specifies, selects and qualifies lighting control systems used with LED luminaire designs.
• Interacts with device, hardware and software design teams to assist in overall development of controls and sensor systems.
• Designs, develops, builds and tests systems and products based on system control of LEDs.
• Develops and benchmarks system performance models.
• Develops and implements test procedures and/or evaluates and selects appropriate test instrumentation.
• Provides multi-discipline support by resolving technical issues associated with control components, products or systems.
• Tests new and existing designs and documentation of changes through a formal engineering change notification process.
• May provide recommendations for cost reduction efforts.
• May apply quantitative analysis in determining root cause of highly technical problems and propose, develop and implement solutions for corrective action.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ten years of related experience developing advanced control systems, preferably with a luminaire manufacturer that produces LED-based products.
• Broad knowledge of LED devices, modules and light engines.
• Familiarity with other disciplines and devices associated with solid-state lighting technology, such as electronics drivers, lighting controls, thermal management techniques, thermal modeling, etc.
• Understanding of LED Lighting systems including Thermal Management, Optical Control, Electrical parameters of LEDs and LED drivers.
• Understanding of Roadway Lighting.
• Ability to work equally well on your own or within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills verbal & written.
