System analysis, maintenance of laboratory systems, and interact with laboratory users. Serve as a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Administrator and other LIMS-related duties. This position performs the duties involved in computer technical support via the IT Department. These duties include responding to support request via the helpdesk ticket system and performing assigned projects. Projects and requests will involve basic computer setup, hardware and software trouble shooting and following inventory procedures. Some after hours work will be required for scheduled and emergency maintenance events.
Identify potential system architecture options and participate in vendor evaluations.
Support LIMS implementation and maintenance activities.
Configure and customize LIMS system.
Work with vendors to integrate instruments with LIMS to support the industrial scale cell manufacturing process.
Conduct training sessions for LIMS users, create training and support manuals.
Develop data backup and recovery processes related to LIMS.
Act as liaison between internal laboratory users and vendor to address various system issues.
Evaluate product enhancements and capabilities, in addition to implementing and testing upgrades, as required.
Assist QA officer to analyze data from the database and ensure that staff follow QA/QC procedures.
Communicate with IT and vendors to resolve issues.
IT/LIMS project management.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Computer related hardware troubleshooting.
Computer installation and relocation.
Perform Operating Systems and software updates as needed.
Primary helpdesk and contact for Novato facility during the hours of 3pm-5pm PST.
Perform routine maintenance on computers during scheduled maintenance.
Assist with equipment replacement cycle.
Essential Job Requirements::
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Bioengineering, biology or related discipline.
Three years+ experience preferred in a LIMS Administrator role for a Production, R&D or QC laboratory.
Prior experience implementing new LIMS system(s).
A clear understanding of 21CFR Part 11 (FDA Electronic Records and Signatures regulation).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated working understanding of laboratory operations and practices strong organizational and/or project management skills.
Ability to contribute to multiple projects for different business stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Database maintenance in the selected LIMS
Programming in the selected LIMS
