Linux Systems Engineer iPipeline, Inc.
DescriptionThe Linux Systems Engineer is responsible for provisioning, configuration, operation and maintenance of iPipeline infrastructure and systems. These include highly available systems delivering a high performance SaaS application as well as parallel environments for development, QA and UAT. The individual participates in research and development of technologies that can be used to enhance operational effectiveness and improve overall availability and performance. Create new, or make enhancements to current policies, procedures and standards. Automate administrative functions such as patch management, backup and recovery processes. This position can be located in Exton, PA, Philadelphia, PA, or Salt Lake City, UT.

Strong working knowledge of Linux operating system including the Ubuntu distribution.
Strong working knowledge of VMWare
Proficiency with Splunk highly desired.
Experience with storage arrays and SANs.
Knowledge of current computer security practices and network protocols.
Experience with F5 loadbalancers highly desired.
Linux systems administration,
Fine tune configurations to get the best performance/resource consumption.
Analyze, install, configure and maintain operating, network and other systems software and utilities, servers and other hardware and related applications systems.
Provision physical and virtual server (VMware)
Monitor systems to ensure maximum performance and suggest and perform system improvements as needed
Build and install open source software packages.
Establish and implement systems guidelines, procedures and standards. Assure standards are consistent with corporate policies.
Ensure availability, performance and security of systems software including operating and network systems and utilities, servers and other hardware, related applications system.
Maintain data recoverability. Implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Participate in 24x7 system support rotation and handle escalations.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor?s degree ?In Computer Sciences or related field desired.
Minimum 3 years related experience required.
