Requirements3-5 years in Linux administration (with Windows)
BS in Computer Science or equivalent field or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge of Linux/Windows internals
Passionate about new technologies and new ideas
Great troubleshooting and documentation skills
Qualifications:
Strong Linux (Centos/Redhat, Debian) and Windows (2003/2008)
Experience supporting web applications - .NET, Java, Ruby, php
Must know scripting besides Bash such as Ruby , Perl or Python
Understanding of Unix systems services (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, NTP, NFS, SSH, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat)
Must be able to debug services on Linux (strace, gdb)
Windows systems services (AD, IIS, SMB, FTP)
Knowledge of monitoring systems such as Nagios, Ganglia, Graphite, Statsd a big plus
Must be familiar with package management (RPM/Yum, Aptitude/dpkg)
Familiarity with Sign on/Auth technologies (Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, PAM)
Familiarity with load balancing technologies (Citrix, F5, HaProxy, RelayD)
Familiarity working with virtualization technologies a huge plus (Xen, Hypervisor, KVM)
Familiarity working with systems provisioning frameworks a big plus (Chef, Puppet, Kickstart, PXE)
Prior experience with hardware; servers and storage systems, from HP, DELL, SuperMicro
Experience working with public cloud/virtualization technologies a plus (AWS, EC2, S3)
Familiarity with networking technologies helpful (switches, routers, firewalls, proxies - both OpenSource and commercial)
