Litigation and Regulatory Paralegal MegaPath Networks

1. Litigation support:
Support in-house litigation counsel in all current and potential litigation (business, HR, patent)
Proficient and experienced in legal research, drafting pleadings, orders, pretrial discovery responses or requests
Coordination of internal efforts, as needed, including proficiency with e-discovery
Communicate with internal clients and outside counsel and others on litigation-related issues in person, on the telephone and by email.
Assist in preparation of subpoenas, obtaining records from third parties, preparation of trial notebooks
Participate in conference calls or hearings as needed.
Assist with various litigation filings received by company, such as bankruptcy notices, garnishment, or other court orders, to ensure claims and/or documents are prepared and filed
Handle law enforcement and third party subpoenas for documents and/or information and provide support to supervising attorney
2. Contract support:
Assist in the interconnection or commercial agreement/amendment negotiation process
3. Regulatory support:
Assist in-house counsel in preparing and filing pleadings, responses, and other documents in federal and/or state regulatory proceedings.
Monitor regulatory proceedings important to Company and provide updates
Handle projects involving state regulatory commissions on behalf of the Company, including external and internal contacts as needed.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarization with systems, reports, procedures required for the job.
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with e-discovery software and/or processes would be helpful; not required
Customer-service oriented
Independent worker and self-starter on certain projects while also strong team work skills
Willingness to learn new substantive areas of practice and assist with variety of projects that may arise for Legal Department
Educational Background: Typically requires an Associate?s degree in related field or equivalent experience, certifications, or training
Job-related Experience : 3+ years of related experience
