Logistics Manager PHT
Position Summary:
The Logistics Manager works with PHT?s customers, Client Services and Production team to facility global import and export of PHT?s products. The Logistics Manager will work with PHT?s Project Managers and Project Coordinators based in Boston and Geneva to facilitate global import and export for multiple projects. The Logistics Manager will lead a small team of Import/Export specialists who perform tasks to support the logistics function including preparing invoices and checking on the status of active shipments. The Logistics Manager has responsibility for ensure PHT?s products are imported successfully, arrive at their destination on time, and are returned to PHT when the project concludes.
Position Responsibilities:
Leadership
Lead small team of Import/Export specialists
Share logistics expertise with Client Services and Production teams
Attend internal meetings as required to support logistics function
Follow PHT?s standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for production, project monitoring, shipments and returns, and all other applicable procedures and practices.
Establish new SOPs and work instructions for production & logistics functions where applicable. Update SOPs and work instructions to implement best practices.
Regularly meet with Production Management to review project status and logistics issues and receive communication on new initiatives, processes and company updates.
Logistics Expertise
Keep current on US and Foreign import and export requirements pertaining to PHT?s products
Research and ensure that country specific regulations are up-to-date. Participate in RFQ (request for quotation) with carriers and logistics vendors.Interpret laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses. Serve as the subject matter expert on Import, Export and Trade Compliance Issues
Customer Satisfaction
Track multiple issues to successful resolution.
Provide updates to customers via conference call, email and occasional in-person meetings.
Provide timely responses to questions from clients regarding logistics and active shipments and returns.
Review on-time and delayed international shipments and returns and expedite as required.
Troubleshoot and resolve customs delays.
Education Minimum: Four year college degree or equivalent experience, Customs Broker License preferred
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of four years successfully handling domestic and international logistics issues (Import Export)
Excellent knowledge of USHTS, classification, valuation, trade agreements, US and foreign entry process
Proven experience in client relations; comfortable interacting with clients.
Familiarity with FDA regulatory processes and clinical research processes.
Self directed - comfortable working in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication.
