Description
Responsible for supervising shipping, receiving, and stockroom activities.
Works with all LumaSense departments to ensure efficient process of traffic coordination.
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Responsibilities:
Act as a first point of escalation all stockrooms, shipping and receiving issues. Interact with Operations management to ensure issues are promptly addressed.
Ensure productivity and quality goals are met.
Oversee inventory control systems and implement process improvements as needed.
Train and coach stockroom, shipping & receiving employees.
Responsible for supervising shift schedule to include: work station assignments, employee breaks, employee vacations, overtime needs, back up for absent employees and cross training. Approves timesheets and PTO requests.
Develop cross training plans, workflow processes, and effective space design plans.
Set priorities for daily and weekly shipping activities.
Proactively develop, communicate status and plans.
Manage shipping and receiving of all LumaSense products to (and sometimes from) customer sites and other locations as required, including selection of vendors. Review traffic requirements, as needed.
May be hands on in assisting staff with: distributing, kitting, packing and handling direct and indirect material, filling out correct documentation and making appropriate computer entries to track material flow.
Qualifications:
High level of attention to detail.
Extensive background and experience in general manufacturing stockroom, shipping and receiving.
Effective leader and team builder, able to create a strong team.
Possess strong inter-departmental and cross functional communication skills and act as a bridge builder.
Able to lead by example and coach team members to ensure effective communication, team dynamics and mutual accountability.
Exercise sound judgment within defined practices and policies.
Experience with operational excellence tools such as lean and six sigma, a plus.
Strong focus on execution, results driven.
Computer literate.
Familiar with/working knowledge of international shipping, and receiving tariff customs, and other regulations and procedures
Education/Experience:
High school graduate/Community college preferred.
5+years? experience in high mix, low volume shipping/receiving and inventory control.
Preferred qualifications:
Working knowledge of Expandable/MRP system
Supervisory experience
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
Able to safely constant lifting of up to 25 pounds
Bending and stooping occasionally
Frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking/listening, and reaching with hands and arms
