Job Summary:
The Lync Engineer will serve as a Tier 3 resource and be responsible for providing support to Tiers 1 and 2 of customer environments. The Lync Engineer will demonstrate the value of our Network Operations Center functions to clients offering world class service and support in a managed service solution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Investigate and resolve escalated issues. Research problem information to proactively identify trends and potential sources of new problems while preventing the replication of issues within the environment. 35%
Perform health checks in client environment on an annual basis, discovering potential improvements as well as possible opportunities for additional services. 10%
Perform monthly reporting for each assigned client. 10%
Assists in onboarding new clients as assigned. 5%
Through continuous review, ensures all open incidents for assigned clients are being worked to resolution; escalates any aged issues to management as needed. 25%
Assist in development and delivery of project / OAI activity in client environments as delegated by Senior Engineers and / or Management. 15%
INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM FUNCTION OF ALL NOC ROLES
Qualifications:
3- 5 years? experience Supporting/Implementing Microsoft Lync, Exchange, Active Directory services
3rd party product integration with MS OCS/Lync
Experience doing OCS - Lync migration
Experience with other technologies encountered related to migrations in a customer environment such as EMC, VMware, NAS devices, etc.
MCSE and MCSA
Enterprise Email Migrations and Consolidation
Experience with Back Office systems
Excellent communication skills, team focus, and good business judgment is a must.
Experience supporting mission-critical 24x7 enterprise-class applications and systems
Ability to troubleshoot remotely, or ?blind?, with minimal visibility into a customer environment.
Ability to command a strong presence while interacting with customers and partners
Certifications-highly desirable
Exam 70-664: TS: Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Configuring
Exam 70-665: PRO: Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Administrating
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
