We are looking for software engineers interested in machine learning and large-scale production systems! You will train, implement and evaluate machine learned affinity models and deploy them worldwide.
At eHarmony we spend a lot of time researching new features which help us predict more accurately who is right for whom among millions of users.Â We don't just stop at research though. We continuously roll out new models and monitor their performance across many different user segments and countries around the world.
In this position, you will:
Work on the heart of our matchmaking engine. You will be responsible for making sure that we deliver the best matches possible throughout the world, taking into account usersâ individual preferences, culture, and background and learning from their feedback. You will be wrangling data from different sources and formats together to train machine learning models on. You will be expected to deliver maintainable production quality code that automates this process. You will be keeping a close eye on the performance of models and will develop new models as we enter new markets.
- Love building things. And probably have a pet project(s) (what is your github handle btw?) or experience from a production environment.
- Are efficient with a scripting language and a java or scala; not afraid of SQL.
- Are cozy with or keen to learn hadoop, hive, git, vowpal wabbit, mahout, solr, voldemort, R, rrdtool/whisper.
- Enjoy both developing and maintaining an automated system that learns from large data.
- Have a good sense for the business impact of your decisions.
- Have the drive and discipline to get things done and follow new features through from idea through launch to evaluation.
- You need to be organized and pay attention to detail to be able to keep track of many model versions simultaneously.
