The Manager, Accounting applies broad professional expertise and technical knowledge to all areas affecting financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining practices ensuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with accounting guidance, and will work to achieve Company objectives in a resourceful and effective way. Responsibilities include managing staff to ensure work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner, and analyzing costs, revenues and financial commitments incurred to provide managers with clarity on accounting treatment and to assist with reporting the organization?s finances to management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
?Manage monthly close Process and communicate deadlines and milestones
?Assist with the annual financial audit. Exercise sound professional judgment, confidence and skill in preparing schedules and discussing transactions with auditors
?Assist with financial reporting for the Executive Team and Board of Directors
?Conduct monthly financial results meetings with managers; analyze and correct for discrepancies
?Capital expenditure Forecast and Reporting ? establish effective process, monitor adherence
?Assist with daily banking and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
?Ensure Debt Compliance is performed in a timely and accurate manner.
?Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
?Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
?Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
?Work with direct reports to establish goals and advise on professional development of staff.
?Use of professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues including the maintenance of internal controls.
?Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
?BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA a plus
?Minimum of eight years? experience in Accounting; public accounting experience preferred; minimum of five years supervisory experience.
?Thorough knowledge of statutory accounting practices and principles, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards
?Experience with ERP systems, external and ancillary software and work order/inventory systems

?Proficient with MS Office, advanced user of Excel and Word; Experience with Monarch a plus
