The Manager, Analytics uses advanced quantitative analysis, data mining techniques and strong industry acumen to interpret, connect and predict electronic labs data in order to deliver insight and recommendations for clinical and business decisions. The Manager, Analytics is responsible for conducting various Analytics projects leveraging Medivo?s data asset. The role requires deep familiarity with advanced statistical techniques, the ability to leverage large data-sets using cutting edge database tools and data analysis using quantitative software packages and languages.
This position either performs or coordinates any of the following tasks, as applicable, on a case-by-case basis.
Work directly with Medivo?s clients to understand their business objectives and translate them into structured analyses
Prepare analysis plans and review with clients? analytical staff
Work with data management (BI) resources to obtain the right data for each analysis
Perform the analysis, using industry-approved statistical methodologies
Take steps to ensure data accuracy (?0-defect analysis?)
Prepare a visually compelling representation of the results
Able to present & defend the results of complex analytical models, if required
Interact with client at various times during the conduct of the analysis
Analytics projects include impact analysis of Medivo?s programs, clinical insights for clients, industry abstracts, pre-sale projects, CD&A projects and others
Analytics Process Management
Be a key contributor to Medivo?s Analytics Methodology
Contribute to the ongoing efforts to create, standardize and automate analytical dashboards wherever relevant
Work with Data Management and other analytics groups to create/enhance standard reports using business application tools
Across multiple projects, ensure the timely delivery of analytical results to Medivo?s clients
Maintain a project dashboard, showing at-a-glance status across all assigned projects
Train and/or coordinate with analytics staff, both onshore and offshore
Contribute to the productization of Medivo?s analytics offering, including creating tools & processes that can be reused (such as algorithms, projection methods, etc.)
Passionate about working with complex data, finding insights and telling a meaningful story based on the data and able to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
Minimum of three years experience in either industry or academia in data mining, solutions development, real time testing/learning and improving customers? experience
Extensive experience solving analytic problems using quantitative approaches and a proven passion for generating insights from data.
Strong working knowledge of data mining techniques, including regression analysis, clustering analysis, factor analysis & principal component analysis (PCA), decision trees; also preferred is familiarity with recommendation systems such as collaborative filtering, k-nearest neighbors. Experience with data visualization a plus.
Demonstrated ability to apply cutting edge statistical techniques to business problems and to leverage external thinking (from academia and/or other industries).
Creativity to go beyond current tools to deliver the best solution to the problem, ability and comfort with working independently and making key decisions on projects.
The ability to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners & external constituencies.
MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Operational Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Market Research or related quantitative fields
Hands on expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas:
modeling of complex systems
pattern formation in nonlinear systems
Experience in SAS, SPSS, R (preferred), Rapid Miner or Minitab for basic statistical data analysis
Programming skills with a solid understanding of object oriented languages, including Java or Python a plus
Experience with physician and patient level data sources for the pharmaceutical industry is preferred
