Job Description
We are seeking a pragmatic, insightful analytic leader who exhibits exceptional quantitative aptitude motivated by practical business outcomes. This position requires an ability to research and understand the analytical & business trends emerging in the audience targeting space (both offline and online) coupled with an exceptional ability to develop a well-conceived strategic analytics roadmap, and explain highly technical analytical concepts to audiences with widely varying analytical experience and business perspectives.
Performance for the Manager: Strategic Analytics role will be measured by the quality of the strategic recommendations produced for the Datalogix analytics team, the effectiveness of the communication materials presented for internal and external consumption, the increased awareness of strategic analytics initiatives across the organization and industry, and the resultant internal and external changes produced by the work that is delivered.
Primary responsibilities include:
Provide strategic analytic thought leadership across the organization.
Develop and own the strategic analytics roadmap for the entire organization
o Complete secondary market research to understand analytical trends across the audience targeting space and how they should be applied at Datalogix
o Develop data analysis, concept prototypes, and/or test designs needed to validate the potential efficacy of a suggested analytical capability
o Deliver the data & business analysis needed to quantify the value associated with different potential analytical initiatives
Written communication: Create impactful presentations (and whitepapers) that:
o sell the value of proposed strategic analytics initiatives o effectively communicate the analytical methodologies that Datalogix uses to deliver its products along with how they are differentiated (theoretically) from other approaches
o explain the value that we deliver beyond alternatives in the market place
Verbal communication: Effectively communicate findings - establishing credibility and rapport with audiences ranging from internal stake holders to trade show audiences to C-level executives in both partner and client organizations.
Program management: help the SVP: Product & Analytics prioritize the analytical initiatives delivered by the broader organization and work with Test, Product Management, and Engineering Organizations to generalize and scale the most valuable analytical approaches into our broader set of capabilities.
Required Skills:
BA or BS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering. MBA preferred.
5+ years experience in consumer marketing analytics, preferably for a large retailer and / or database marketing supplier or 2+ years of consulting for a top tier consulting firm.
Exceptional problem solving skills with unrelenting focus on practical business implications.
Exceptional verbal and written communications skill along with a strong executive presence.
Advanced use of data & financial analysis as well as presentation software. (SQL, Office, VBA, etc.)
o Experience working with large datasets (billions of records) preferred
o Experience with SAS BASE and SAS STAT, and/or R preferred
