Manager, Benefits and Compensation
Under the direct supervision of the VP of Human Resources, oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company benefits and compensation programs, and HRIS system. Provide hands-on administrative level support. Provide management and leadership to small support staff.
Essential Job Functions:
Benefits
Work with broker to research, analyze, evaluate and design corporate benefits plans/programs providing recommendations for changes and enhancements
Work with broker to analyze benefit costs and trends, identify drivers of cost, provide recommendations
Direct and facilitate the benefits annual renewal; assist with negotiation of premiums, administrative fees, services and plan administration
Subject matter expert on all benefits and programs responsible for responding to employees questions and needs when necessary
Understand risk and compliance aspects of Benefits Administration; possess a strong working knowledge of related state and federal laws including but not limited to FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, and COBRA
Ensure all benefit plans are in compliance with all current federal and state regulations/guidelines including governmental reporting and participant disclosures
Direct and facilitate the open enrollment process; create and update benefits communication and open enrollment materials
Facilitate the daily administration of all group benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life, short-term, long- term disability insurance, FSA, EAP, Workers Comp, and COBRA
Responsible for Workers Compensation administration and OSHA compliance and reporting
Ensure all monthly bills are audited, reconciled and processed on time
Oversee Automated Benefits Administration; implement and maintain self-service functionality and connections to third-party vendors; conduct data audits, ensuring data integrity; develop, prepare, and analyze reports
Compensation
Plan, develop, design and implement company total compensation plans
Responsible for incentive, stock option and bonus plan design and administration
Analyze salary survey data to determine competitive position and recommend changes in salary structure as needed
Determine effective benchmarking resources
Analyze and establish salary structure ensuing equitable and competitive employee compensation
Perform job evaluations and write job descriptions ensuring appropriate FLSA designation
HRIS Management
Provide technical expertise and be accountable for the on-going support and integration of HRIS and Automated Benefit Administration systems ensuring integrity of data, reliability of systems, quality of output and ease of process
Manage the workflows and priorities of HRIS activities
Ensure HR processes and procedures are documented for SOX and legal compliance
Regularly conduct audits to ensure EEOC classifications are correct; ensure accurate and timely EEO and other governmental reporting/compliance
Lead and participate in planning, designing, testing and execution of system upgrades and feature enhancements
Anticipate future human resources needs and ensure computer systems are in place to meet the needs of the organization
Manage, audit, and act as backup for the day to day HRIS workflow
Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent; PHR, CCS, CEBS preferred
5 ? 10 years previous experience in benefits, compensation, and HRIS administration in an organization with at least 500 employees
5+ years previous staff management/supervisory experience
Thorough knowledge of corporate benefits and laws and regulations that govern them including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life, short-term, long- term disability insurance, 401-k, FSA, EAP, Workers Comp, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, FLSA
Thorough knowledge of compensation analysis and plan strategy; experience leading compensation and benefits design changes
Thorough knowledge of HR laws
Basic understanding of payroll rules and procedures and how it relates to benefits enrollments and terminations
Extensive ADP HRIS experience which includes reporting, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement
Broad based knowledge of various Human Resources functions and the data systems required to support them
Strong supervisory experience
Effective project management skills with an ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a fast paced environment
Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex benefits in an understandable empathetic manner
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Prior experience with a publicly owned company and/or IPO preferred
