This position plays a key role in providing both strategic and tactical human resources support to develop and coordinate programs which directly support the achievement of business objectives. This position manages the day-to-day Human Resource function including: compensation, performance review and merit planning, employee benefits & programs, HR compliance, on-boarding, employee recordkeeping, succession planning and HRIS system administration.

Embrace and create process improvements for all aspects of HR; look for opportunities to streamline HR processes wherever possible
Responsible for remaining up-to-date on relevant federal and state employment laws and other human resources compliance issues (internationally). Educate management and employees on policies/processes as necessary
Participate in the selection of benefits plans and vendors and in the design of competitive and innovative benefit programs aligned to the business objectives
Participate in the development, implementation, communication and administration of the merit annual salary planning, long-term incentive/equity pay programs, and other reward and recognition programs
Perform analyses and develop compensation program guidelines and policies
Evaluate compensation programs including Radford Salary Surveys and others. Compare internal positions and salary ranges against other Life Science companies, High-Tech, and Medical Device in the Bay Area and internationally for competitiveness. Develop job descriptions for new created positions.
Provide advice and counsel to management regarding all people related compensation and benefit issues
Work with HR leader to determine, develop and implement training programs to strengthen competencies and skill-set across the organization
Enroll and track employee changes for vendors (Fidelity 401K, Blue Cross and Kaiser Medical, Metlife Dental, VSP Vision, Unum for Life, STD/LTD)
Process employee transactions, including terminations, leave of absence, promotions, transfers, etc.
Administer and fund the Section 125 plans, discrimination testing, and COBRA
Develop quarterly reports and metrics from HRIS system and other benchmarking sources
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Education and Experience:
BA/BS in Human Resources, Business or a related field, with at least 7 years of experience working in an HR organization with responsibility for benefits and compensation
Experience with international benefits is required
Experience with executive compensation design is highly desired
Certified Compensation Professional certificate is highly desired
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Excellent multi-tasking abilities, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
Advanced computer skills; proficient in MS Office applications, as well as ADP & HRIS systems (SuccessFactors highly desired)
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, ability to communicate effectively orally and in written communication
