Manager, Compensation & HR Operations Silver Spring Networks
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Compensation/HR Operations Manager is responsible for leading both strategic and tactical aspects of Compensation and HR Operations/HRIS. Responsibilities include effective design and implementation of salaried and variable pay programs. In conjunction with the Chief HR Officer, co-design and implement Executive Compensation and Equity programs. Work with the Chief HR Officer on planning, preparation of Compensation Committee materials while also having the opportunity to participate in Compensation Committee and Board level discussions. Develop salary strategies for expansion into new countries as well as due diligence/compensation mapping efforts required to support M&A activities.
Partner with HR Business partners, Talent Acquisition and other HR team members to provide compensation and systems consulting services to develop programs that tie to the strategic goals of the business. Utilize HR systems and other applications to streamline HR functionality and efficiently to meet the business needs of the company. Take the lead role as project manager on major initiatives such as annual focal programs, semi-annual bonus programs, employee compensation education as well as maintaining and enhancing compensations systems and applications.
Participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary and equity information to determine company's competitive position. Must have in depth experience with major surveys, such as Radford, IPAS, etc. as well as detailed reporting and analytics skills. Formulate recommendations regarding development of global company salary structure, FLSA exemptions, job revisions, organizational structures, etc. Review existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommend appropriate course of action.
Oversee the specification, development and implementation of new or redesigned systems, reports and policies and procedures for internal use. In consultation with IT, manage relationships with software vendors and ensure the development of proper training and documentation for system use and maintenance. Consult with IT and HR management in developing company-wide use of HRIS salary planning and reporting functions.
Oversee the HR Operations/ HRIS Team, responsible for - scheduled and adhoc reporting, HR systems and data management in systems such as Oracle, Success Factors (PM tool), SharePoint (company intranet), and benefits systems. The HR Operations team also provides day to day support to employees and the HR Team including assistance with benefits and employee questions, on and off boarding, efiling, employment verifications, and is the face of HR.
--Progressive experience in compensation mgmt. in fast-paced high tech preferred
--Strong working knowledge of major HRIS systems and related HR applications
--Experience creating variable compensation plans
--Experience implementing HR systems
--Excellent project manager with ability to manage diverse teams (HR, IT, vendor)
--Able to present data and recommendations in an organized and logical manner, to all levels of an organization
--Strong strategic, analytical and problem solving skills. Attention to detail required while also being able to synthesize the data into themes and solutions
--Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
--Experience with mergers and acquisitions
--Strong Excel skills required
--Good understanding of equity best practice and related costing methods
--Strong relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills
--Knowledge of current employment legislation
--Natural team collaborator. Works well cross-functionally within HR team and amongst partners in Finance, Legal and Stock Admin.
--Bachelor's degree is required; CCP preferred
--8+ years of experience in Compensation and HR systems management
This is a unique role that will require subject matter expertise in the areas of compensation and HR Operations management, as well as contribute in some other related Human Resources needs regarding systems, reporting and compliance.
