As a Manager of the Data Engineering you will use your experience with Hadoop, MapReduce and business intelligence platforms to build next generation of data-driven products and features that scale to tens of millions of users and petabytes of data while providing immediate and actionable benefits for both internal researchers, analysts as well as consumers whose mobile life we are making better. You are a hands-on, experienced architect leading a team of data engineers with focus on results, creativity and demonstrated success of building analytics products.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Carry the end-to-end technical responsibility for the big data products at SEVEN
Drive daily engineering and architecture activities focused on an integrated stack of big data technologies
Create cutting edge approaches and solutions to critical challenges in the data space
Define the technical strategy and architecture for the end-to-end data engineering, evaluate new technologies to achieve the vision
Be hands on to write efficient and scalable code to tackle the biggest challenges
Oversee the quality of the code base and ensure that the engineering plans continually meet our goals
Skills and Experience Required:
10+ years of clearly demonstrated experience developing efficient and scalable software solutions.
Solid prior experience with software development and technologies in the data management space.
Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL (Hadoop, Mongo, HBASE, etc.) technologies and strong understanding where each technology fits best
Advanced experience with Java
Prior experience in a role with clear responsibility for delivering a critical and extensive solution.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment and drive change, and collaborate effectively with a diverse groups of individuals and organizations
Able and willing to work under deadline pressure
