Manager - Data Warehouse Epocrates, Inc.

Reporting to the Director of Data services, the successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the day to day running of the Data Warehouse team. This is a hands-on management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team to plan, design, and implement data warehouse projects and support existing data warehouses and data-marts. Set schedules and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Lead the team in developing ETL/ELT processes using Informatica PowerCenter software and validation code between source systems and the data warehouse. Maintain data warehouse and data mart modifications to support enhancements.
- Work with the team to develop long term Data Warehouse strategic direction.
- Ensure the quality, consistency and security of company data and data warehouse systems following a defined set of procedures and facilities (change control, security procedures, backups, etc).
- Work with Data Quality team and Business owners to ensure quality and integrity of data and processes. Establish plans to clean or replace legacy data stores.
- Work closely with internal customers and the Reporting team to coordinate plans and activities for development projects.
- Oracle SQL and Informatica ETL tuning.
- Team player - clearly communicates commitments, issues, completion dates and status with senior management.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail. Follow data warehouse development standards.
Key Skills
- Minimum 3 years experience leading a Data Warehouse team.
- Minimum 8 years experience in Data Warehouse development.
- Minimum 3 years Informatica development experience, proficient with PowerCenter designer, workflow manager, workflow monitor and repository manager;
- Solid understanding of dimensional models, the use of query tools, and metadata repositories.
- PowerCenter 8+ experience is required. PowerCenter 9 experience is a definite plus.
- Minimum one year Informatica administration experience. Setup job monitoring, repository administration, Informatica upgrade, migration, backups and tuning.
- Minimum five years Oracle database development experience, with data modeling; Database application administration experience in data warehouse environment;
- Able to multitask and set appropriate priorities.
- Proficiency with UNIX (RedHat Linux) shell scripting and cron jobs is required;
- Must be highly committed to systems and database security as well as data integrity;
- Must be self-motivated, have a strong team orientation, learn quickly and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Must have B.S. degree in computer science or related field;
- Must be authorized to work for any US company.
Desired
- Experience with Tidal job scheduler is a definite plus.
- Data cleansing and profiling skills are preferred.
