Manager, Display Homes Blu homes
Blu Homes is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Manager, Display Homes, based in Blu?s Waltham, MA, headquarters. The new Manager will work with the Sales, Design and Project Delivery teams to strategically identify display home opportunities across North America, execute on placement and build-out, and manage existing properties and programs. Display homes are and will continue to be extremely strategic for Blu Homes. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to get in at the ground-level and build his/her own team over time.
Blu Homes is a fast growing innovative technology startup aiming to change landscape of the housing market with best-in-class precision built green houses. Using a uniquely integrated business model, and deeply proprietary information and building science technology, Blu empowers homeowners to design their homes with a free online 3-D configurator. The houses then are built in a Blu factory using a proprietary steel framing system that offers unique beauty, environmental performance and strength, delivered to sites nationwide, and finished by Blu teams. Ultimately, Blu?s mission is to provide home buyers and institutions worldwide with green buildings that are high quality, healthy, beautiful, and economical.
Candidates should embrace technology and be sharp, mature, down to earth, fun, good communicators, high energy, have a ?sense of urgency?, and excitement and understanding of startup culture. Applicants with an interest or understanding of growing a technology startup company are preferred.
Lead Blu?s new Display Home Program, which is focused on driving sales growth in core territories through the establishment of branded model/ display homes;
Collaborate with regional sales teams to identify locations for new display homes and initial design concepts;
Formulate investment thesis for new display projects and present for approval to senior management;
Work cross-functionally with members from Design, Sales, Project Management, Finance, and Legal to transact new properties and execute on the successful delivery and finishing of new display homes;
Direct the design development and creative process, ensuring that new display homes display the best and latest Blu designs and technology;
Manage budgets for existing and ongoing display properties;
Develop a world-class customer experience surrounding display assets, including marketing strategies and events;
Achieve an advanced understanding of the Blu product, value proposition, and sales process.
Analytical, organized, and pragmatic approach with focus on attention to detail;
Experience managing programs/ initiatives with a focus on schedules and budgets;
Strong work ethic and ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities in a quickly evolving environment;
Ability to alternate between high-level strategic planning and task-oriented, detailed execution;
Proficiency with financial modeling and analytics, advanced use of MS Excel;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience with MS PowerPoint and formal presentations;
Ability to travel to sites across the U.S. and Canada;
Sense of urgency and ownership; self-motivated to take on new challenges;
Interest and proclivity for learning technical information about home-building and Blu?s proprietary technology;
Enthusiastic about collaborating to grow sales at a high tech green home startup;
Ability to ?scale? with company and an interest in long-term career opportunities at Blu.
5-8 years working experience; background in real estate or management consulting preferred; start-up experience a plus;
Minimum bachelor?s degree.
