The Manager of Education & Documentation is responsible for developing and managing the SciQuest Education department, which serves SciQuest customers and employees. Included in these responsibilities are driving the strategic vision for the learning center, managing the activities of the staff to achieve financial and quality goals, and advocating and leading organizational change and improvement. Additionally, this role is also responsible for online and printed documentation for the SciQuest products. The Manager of Education is a member of the Support Services team.
Responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing the educational approaches and strategies, as well as the development and resources of the curriculum.
Responsible for all SciQuest product training for customers, employees and partners.
Manage P&L objectives of the education business.
Effectively manage onsite and remote employees.
Ensure that appropriate product documentation is developed and maintained. This includes release documentation, printed manuals and searchable online help.
Implement and support development of training materials that can be delivered live or via electronic learning with corresponding knowledge assessments.
Track and manage Trainer utilization rates to ensure that team is utilized appropriately.
Manage/update training calendars for internal and external training.
Collaborate with functional department leads. Develop strong relations with subject matter experts. Be seen as a highly competent and collaborative training partner who works closely with multiple teams to clearly understand education requirements.
Work closely with Development, Product Management and Product Marketing to ensure high quality product release training is delivered.
Responsible for the coordination, setup, and logistics for all product education.
Collect and analyze end user feedback to continually improve training programs.
Develop customer and partner certification programs.
BA in Training, Business or other related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience needed in training design, development, and/or delivery and managing projects.
3+ years managing and directing an education team.
Solid experience delivering stand-up training and coaching to leadership teams and diverse employee groups required.
Clear understanding of SaaS software and services offering, with a deep understanding of training and documentation for software applications.
Experience with Procurement, Contract Management, AP, or Bidding applications preferred.
The ability to quickly learn new concepts, processes, and applications.
Deep knowledge and applied practice of successful instructional design and content development strategies.
Ability to gain buy-in and acceptance for communications, strategic messaging and training initiatives at the organizational level.
Should possess end to end project management skills moving concepts through design, development, implementation and continual improvement.
Instructional design and development capability and experience for instructor-led and on-demand learning products.
High proficiency in using multiple and innovative training delivery methods and mediums to include blended learning solutions and online tools.
Project management skills for implementation of large initiatives.
Creative, dynamic, and high energy person.
Demonstrated experience in achieving revenue and margin targets.
Results-oriented with demonstrated leadership skills.
Critical thinker with a bias towards action.
Good interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate in both writing and verbally.
Polished and engaging presentation and communication skills.
Solid knowledge of Product Documentation processes, including single-sourcing, Online Help development tools, and best practices for writing product manuals.
Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
Must be detail oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task.
Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, clients, partners, and corporate executives.
Ability to retain and protect confidential material.
