Manager, EV Technologies Better Place

We are looking for a Manager EV Technologies who will be an integral part of this mission. The ideal candidate combines a passion for cars and new technologies with the ability to make things happen, with the full bandwidth from a hands-on approach to managing external resources. Many engineers follow a given engineering blueprint this position has to create and execute the blueprint for what has never been done before. Your personal drive and abilities will define execution speed and results.
DUTIES:
The Manager EV Technologies is responsible to coordinate, support, and lead technical interaction and projects with automobile manufacturers, component suppliers, and services providers. Focus is on projects and processes related to switchable EVs, EV components, compatibility between Better Place infrastructure and OEM EVs, EV pilots and demonstrations, and EV technical requirements. These efforts need to result in technical definitions and solutions that are applicable in the Better Place ecosystem.
o Grow and maintain partnerships with automotive industry focused on technical interaction
o Coordinate and lead technical implementation of EV demonstrators and pilots
o Support OEMs to integrate Better Place solution elements
o Define technical specifications for automotive components. Coordinate and lead projects related to automotive components. Ensure compatibility of automotive components with Better Place solution
o Integrate automotive requirements in Better Place solutions. Verify vehicle-facing systems and solutions.
o Work closely with Better Place Research and Development, and Business Development teams in all topics. Provide automotive expertise to development programs.
o Lead and work in virtual teams across several functions to synchronize, coordinate, and drive projects
o Ensure regional and industry knowledge transfer within Better Place
o Frequent travel is required

SKILLS:
o Must have proven track record of accomplishments related to this position
o Past work experience in the automotive industry is a must OEM preferred
o Strong technical knowledge is required, ideally covering vehicle development, mechanical integration, and electronic systems
o Solid experience in introducing new technologies into products from early technology prototyping to series/product development
o Ability to work in different scenarios from hands-on approach to managing external resources
o Must have strong record of ability to work on multiple projects and programs at the same time, dealing with broad set of issues, maintaining composure even in stressful situations
o Additional language skills is a plus
o International/global experience is a plus
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
EXPERIENCE:
o Automotive experience in various functional areas (e.g. vehicle development, technical management)
o Interdisciplinary experience in other industries desirable
EDUCATION:
o Bachelors degree in related area, Graduate degree highly desired
o Interdisciplinary education in multiple technical disciplines is a plus
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
o This position reports to the Director Advanced Engineering, Automotive Alliances.
