Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial Reporting, this role is important in delivering high quality external and internal financial reports, assisting with accounting and related process enhancement initiatives and helping the company with its Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically-savvy individual with very strong GAAP/SEC reporting experience, a solid understanding of business processes and controls, and good management/interpersonal skills, to join the company?s finance function. Key responsibilities and requisite skills/experience include:
Assist the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and others with the quarterly and annual SEC reporting, including preparation of 10-Q?s and 10-K?s
Assist with key areas of the corporate close process, including stock compensation reporting, EPS calculations, internally developed software capitalization processes, etc.
Assist with technical research and in turn provide recommendations relative to specific accounting matters that impact the company as well as SEC reporting requirements
Keep abreast of key accounting and reporting developments impacting the company and assist with implementation of such, as applicable
Assist with monitoring the company?s compliance with quarterly and annual debt covenants and related monthly bank reporting
Assist with the company?s SOX 404 initiative, including helping document and assess the company?s risks and controls over financial reporting
Help coordinate the quarterly reviews and annual audits with the company?s independent auditors
Assist with Corporate Treasury and Tax matters and special projects, including business combinations, reorganization, etc.
The successful candidate will have strong accounting/reporting and business process/controls experience, garnered through 6+ years in public accounting (preferably ?Big 4?) or a combination of public/private industry. This individual should have strong technical expertise and hands-on experience, preferably with emerging businesses and the internet/publishing industry. He/she should be highly motivated, an independent thinker and have strong organizational, interpersonal and management skills, solid excel abilities, and must be a CPA. Working knowledge of Great Plains a plus, but not required.
