The Manager of General Accounting is a management position with primary responsibility for the accurate and efficient management of the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory functions. Additionally, the position provides a key supporting role in the areas of both corporate financial reporting and audit compliance.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the entire general ledger data ensuring that it adheres to generally accepted accounting principles.
Maintain and ensure completeness of journal entry and account reconciliation binders for management review.
Lead the Month-end and Annual closing processes to insure a timely and accurate close.
Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Lead role in all annual external audit requirements for financial reporting, creditor compliance, and insurance regulations.
Development and maintenance of best practice process flows and policy and procedure documents to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department
Other projects and assignments as needed
Lead a team of four direct reports, including developing performance goals and measurements and providing necessary training and coaching to ensure corporate objectives are met
Qualifications:
Financial Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Advanced degree in Business or CPA is preferred but not required.
5 ? 7 years related business experience in a mid-market business.
Strong leadership skills, proven experience in accounting and financial compliance, and experience in cross functional problem solving.
Strong problem solving and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office products and a familiarity with ERP systems (knowledge of Net Suite is preferred but not required)
Keen analytical aptitude and an ability to work on varied assignments under tight deadlines
