Position Description
This position is responsible for leading logistics engineering resources on process management and improvement in all areas of Logistics Operations. This includes the development and implementation of technical solutions and overall optimization of space, equipment and manpower to meet new or changed processing requirements. Analyze appropriateness of current technology and processes to identify areas for time and cost savings and implement process improvements. Assist Sr. Director on companywide large material handling system implementations or warehouse layout designs projects.
Responsibilities:
Analyze manpower, current technology and processes to develop and implement labor standards, technology solutions and overall optimization of space, equipment and manpower to meet new or changed processing requirements.
Analyze, document and map logistics processes, then recommend time and cost savings improvement strategies to enhance productivity and control.
Establish standards and measurements to gauge operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain Labor Management and labor standards.
Evaluate current logistics operations and utilize facility associates in order to identify and implement process improvement and cost reduction projects.
Develop and implement process controls with the goal of streamlining operations, improving throughput and reducing internal and external waste.
Utilizes appropriate techniques and metrics to evaluate process capabilities, define necessary improvements, and monitor results.
Analyze available logistics technologies and processes, which can be used in projects in order to maximize operations efficiency and capacity
Prepare RFQ on project. Evaluate bids from each vendor and make recommendations from both technical and financial standpoints.
Supervise and manage internal logistics engineering and project resources and personnel, and oversee their performance
Assist LE department head to design, build, and improve order fulfillment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network.
Work with material handling equipment and packaging lines and process design based on Lean Manufacturing.
Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for the network, including equipment specification, material flow, process design, and site layout.
Manage capital projects; create conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment.
Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with vendors or subcontractors.
Inspect facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures relating to material handling, processing and storage.
Provide leadership and coordination between internal departments and vendors for multiple sites.
Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.
Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for new and existing equipment.
Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
Facilitate process improvement initiatives among site operations, engineering, and corporate systems groups.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
Engineering background specific to facility design, best practices and work standards to increase product flow and warehouse capacity while optimizing labor.
5+ years of process improvement, warehouse layout design and material handling system implementations experience;
Demonstrated strong project management ability.
Strong familiarity with WMS (warehouse management system) and other related operation system platforms
Have in-depth understanding of the logistics, warehousing and order fulfillment process and operations associated with online retailing business
Profound knowledge of logistics and material handling related systems, technology and equipment
Advanced PC capabilities in word processing, spreadsheets, CAD, presentations and/or flowcharting
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Project is required.
Excellent oral & written skill is a must
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple taskssimultaneously.

Flexible, adaptable and mobile.
Certification of lift trucks is a plus
