The Manager of Internet Operations plays a key role, overseeing the team responsible for the design and support of our Internet-based applications' network, storage and server infrastructure. Although strong technical knowledge is expected, the main focus of the role is to lead and direct a team of Systems Administrators, Network Engineers and other related technical positions. The manager will be expected to design and implement efficient systems, processes and procedures to keep pace with an expanding infrastructure, increasing site traffic, and a growing team of geographically diverse resources. Related responsibilities will include defining and developing project plans, conducting cost/benefit analyses and risk assessments, managing and mentoring personnel, monitoring and reviewing project progress, serving as a liaison for internal stakeholders, and obtaining user acceptance of completed projects/services.
Manage, motivate and develop Cvent's Internet Operations team.
Oversee technical proficiency and productivity of the team and the quality of project deliverables.
Define and prioritize issues and tasks, communicate them effectively to the team, and manage the resources accordingly.
Manage vendor relationships, including assistance with annual budgeting and planning process.
Ensure typical systems management responsibilities such as monitoring, backup, patching, security, business continuity, and change control are designed and conducted to appropriate service levels.
Design and deliver infrastructure solutions that meet business goals, SLAs, and industry best practices.
Monitor and stay abreast of new technological, legal and operational changes that affect the activities and work processes associated with the various projects.
At least four years of technical management experience leading high level technical teams to meet business demands. This should be included in (or in addition to) at least ten years of overall technology experience across multiple information systems disciplines.
Experience understanding business strategy and how it aligns with technology.
Comfortable working in a pressurized, deadline bound environment.
Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills. Strong written communication is especially important for this role.
Experience managing large scale, transaction-intensive, 24x7, multi-site, international operations with 100s of servers and "5 9s" SLA (99.999%).
Familiarity with PCI, SAS70, and SOX Compliance.
Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels. This includes the ability to project a professional image both over the phone and in person.
This position is expected to work overtime and holidays as needed.
