The IT Support Manager is responsible for End User maintenance, break/fix, and business as usual setup of the Company?s legacy and newly implemented computer systems. This leader will be responsible for the Desktop and Application support team which is the first line of contact from the user/business community for any IT related request or issue. In addition, this leader is responsible for leading IT innovations for end user computing.
Duties and Responsibilities
All aspects of end user computer support and troubleshooting, including hardware, software and phone support of on-site and remote users.
Responsible for the roll out of desktops and laptop PCs including software and hardware upgrade planning and the general execution of end user equipment rollouts. Responsible for evaluation and purchase of all end user computing equipment including desktops, laptops, peripheral devices, etc.
Lead teams in triage, evaluation and recommendation of short-term and long-term solutions to customer issues.
Communicate in a prompt, courteous and effective manner with internal and external customers in all circumstances including providing information, answering questions, relaying messages. Maintain confidentiality of customers, products tested and appropriate internal information.
Recommend to product development teams areas of improvement in performance and feature capabilities that will improve our customers' successful use of our products.
Evaluate, implement and communicate desktop technology requirements and support strategies.
Accurate tracking of all hardware and software.
Manage IT projects from the planning stage through completion.
Develop and roll out user training programs
Participate in architecture discussions and planning.
Reinforce ITIL best practices in service design, transition and operation
Effectively develop, communicate and interpret policies.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
Assign areas of ownership, ensure team members have clear priorities and resources to accomplish objectives.
Maintain high morale and motivate team members.
Hire, close and retain talented staff by creating a rewarding team environment.
Manage a team of 4 to 5 employees located at more than one site.
Education and Training
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
5-7 years end user support in a Microsoft Windows server and user multi-platform environment. Active Directory experiences.
Minimum of 2 years management experience.
5-7 years? experience with IT hardware including builds, repairs and upgrades of user equipment.
Must demonstrate knowledge in user administration, Microsoft Office suite support, Windows Vista//XP/7. Experience with Cisco VoIP a plus.
Excellent organizational and project management skills including ability to organize time and work on multiple tasks and follow through to completion of task or project.
Excellent ability to communicate verbally and also to create and write clear, complete documentation of systems and procedures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
Able to adapt quickly to an ever changing environment.
Passionate about contributing to a quality system.
