The opportunity?Tremor Video is hiring a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to work our NYC headquarters. This is a significant opportunity for you to help build a team of web scale Java engineers working on next generation systems for online and mobile video advertising, including advanced analytics portals for Big Data intelligence.
The person must be able to build, lead, coach and inspire excellence from a team of Java software engineers designing and developing API frameworks, which integrate with our Hadoop / NoSQL backend. You and your team will be experienced with high performance, highly scalable Java / Linux web applications with expensive use of Spring and Hibernate frameworks. Tremor is an agile shop so we?re looking for someone who is deep into SCRUM / agile methodologies.
You and your team will work closely with a diverse, cross-functional and geographically disperse people consisting of Java Engineers, Architects, Algorithm Developers, Product Managers, Project Managers, QA and UI/UX designers. The team effort involved in this job requires the Manager to be an excellent communicator and thrive in fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate?
Managerial skills used to help screen, interview, select, hire, onboard and manage a team of Java Engineers.
Exposure to Hadoop and NoSQL technologies (e.g. Cassandra or MongoDB)
Hands-on skills as a Java Engineer, including use of the Spring and Hibernate frameworks and methods for handing Concurrency and Multithreading.
Expert-level understanding of the SQL language
Solid Linux shell skills
Solid understanding of a relational data storage technology such as MySQL
Expert-level understanding of the SQL language
High energy level & excellent people/team member skills
