This hands-on engineering manager for Travel Hotels and Car Rental team at Rearden will be working in a fast-paced, and intellectually stimulating environment. He/She will tackle challenging, novel situations every day, and work with and influence other engineering, operations and business teams. Your role will be to manage the engineering team responsible for building Mobile applications, platform and services. Your focus will include the html5 based client side hybrid platform and apps. As a member of the engineering management team, you will be responsible for delivering new features and applications in a timely manner with high quality. The success of this position will be measured by the quality and success of the applications built on our platform.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing a team of engineers, overseeing their work, and ensuring that they build and support high quality components and services
• Defining and prioritizing release schedules, and allocating appropriate resources to ensure predictable delivery of multiple applications and projects
• Partnering with product management to set resource allocation and development roadmaps
• Attracting and growing exceptional engineers, building teams, and energizing / motivating the organization
• Diving a culture of innovation and quality across the engineering organization
• Contributing significantly to the skills, processes, work environment, and delivery of Mobile Engineering

• 8+ years of experience with commercial and web software development, with a demonstrable track record of successfully leading the development of applications from prototype to release to ongoing support
• 3+ years in an engineering management/leadership role
• Excellent project management and people management skills
• Deep understanding of what makes an engineer tick, and how to get the most out of an engineering team
• Passion for usability and quality
• BS/BA in Computer Science or related area

Desired Qualifications:

• Background in developing mobile applications on the leading smartphone platforms (iOS, Android, Blackberry).
• Web development experience, especially hands on experience with HTML5/CSS3 and advanced Javascript.
• MS in Computer Science or related area
