The Manager of Content Marketing & Social Media is responsible for developing and executing a clearly defined social media strategy to ensure relevant content is shared on a regular basis in support of marketing and other Peak 10 initiatives to increase brand equity, online awareness and lead generation. This person will serve as the gatekeeper to ensure all content meets the Peak 10 strategy; and is thus distributed through the proper channels, repurposed and/or redistributed as appropriate. This position is responsible for connecting Peak 10 programs with our target audiences using a diverse mix of social engagement tactics that help us connect, listen/learn, proactively dialogue and engage. This approachable thought leader delivers best-practices across the social media discipline to inform future program and marketing choices that secure a distinct marketplace position and competitive advantage for Peak 10.
With a firm vision for how content builds a brand, this individual possesses a background encompassing digital marketing, PR and analytics. There must be a competitive focus in this role; e.g., maintaining a keen awareness of competitors' social media statistics, conducting competitive analyses and projected strategies. You will exhibit a comfort level in building social media plans that are powered by existing resources, and adopt strategies of responding to public incidents. This hands-on person will serve as a conduit for messaging, possessing the ability to not only create strong press releases but promote knowledge transfer amongst team members centered around effective content. This individual will be an SME for all issues associated with engagement marketing, while maintaining open communications with all content generators, distributors and users.
Own and deliver Peak 10?s overall content and social media marketing plan, positioning Peak 10 as a thought leader in the areas of IT infrastructure, cloud and managed services.
Evaluate, plan, organize, manage, publish and contribute to all social media and online channels, ensuring consistent messaging and monitoring.
Create, maintain and execute a content/editorial calendar and posting schedule.
Establish processes and workflow built around content for use in achieving business objectives and engaging existing or potential customers of Peak 10.
Conduct, gather and analyze market research to determine social media opportunities.
Oversees content advisory board to turn the strategic initiatives of the organization into actionable content plans that meet the objectives of the content strategy.
Train content and social media contributors, set policy where appropriate to ensure best practices
In collaboration with the Marketing team, set and monitor benchmarks for measuring impact and effectiveness of social media programs and provide optimization recommendations to ensure tight integration of all social media programs with marketing initiatives.
Oversees work of copywriters and editor to ensure consistency in content creation and adherence to key messages.
Participate and initiate online conversations across a variety of channels, and maintaining oversight of corporate/other blogs.
Research and monitor social media conversations, potential issues and key media influencers to provide recommendations relative to engagement.
Identify and monitor emerging trends and provide recommendations for evolving new social media strategies and tactics.
Identify and co-develop targeted promotions or online events suited for the social space to drive brand distinction, affinity for branded campaigns and lead generation.
Requires a Bachelor?s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Relations or a related field.
Seven years of experience developing and/or executing marketing communication plans. At least three years overseeing social media activities directly.
Ability to think and act like a Publisher.
Experience using high-profile social platforms and tools (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, Spiceworks, Vocus, Radian6, Google Alerts and TweekDeck).
Ability to integrate social media into broader marketing campaigns and multiple social distribution channels.
Ability to identify threats and opportunities within the user generated content space and make quick decisions.
Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to rapidly create editorial content
Experience in the tech sector preferred.
Solid understanding of organic search processes, media research, planning disciplines and optimization techniques.
Ability to recommend and/or co-create content strategies, and content therein, to support active marketing touch point plans.
Solid understanding of Web analytics software and reporting protocols (i.e. Google Analytics) relative to tracking marketing campaign engagement touch points.
Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy.
Knowledge and understanding of technology, search, new trends and the latest in social media innovation.
