This position is to engage, manage and work to directly improve the activities of the collections department for the organization. In this role, will be engaged in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts and will communicate all credit related issues to senior management.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create sound, acceptable credit and collections policies
Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare report on highest risk accounts including recommendations for resolution
Interact with patients and facilities to obtain additional credit information
Improve significantly the use of credit cards for private pay payer
Manages group currently including 4 subordinates plus functional responsibility across the network
Develop appropriate tools along with Sales & Marketing to optimize the use of credit cards and other on line payment tools
Renegotiate contracts with vendors as appropriate (SecureNet, Emdeon, etc.)
Reconcile transactions and balances to maintain accurate accounts
Initiate credits and adjustments to customer accounts within company policy limits
Research, propose and make decisions on finance charges
Maintain bad debt and bad debt recovery records
Monitor receivables and collections and provide updates of receivables and provide appropriate reporting procedures
Identify problem accounts and provide regular updates of receivables to management
Negotiate payment programs with delinquent customers
Identify accounts requiring collection agency or legal action and coordinate collections with third party contractors
QUALIFICATIONS
5-7 years in a collections management function
Experience in Healthcare collections setting ? preferably in LTC pharmacy environment
Microsoft Office products and ERP system experience including Framework and ACCPAC
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Must have excellent negotiation and problem solving skills
Collaborative working style critical to success
Ability to develop, coach and promote
Ability to travel domestically
