Workday's is seeking a hands-on manager to lead our growing internal Network & Systems team. We are looking for someone who is ready to jump feet first into the river and be ready to shoot the tech rapids without flinching. The ideal candidate will have a strong, working background in Network and systems management and be comfortable addressing and resolving complex problems. The ideal candidate is a strong team leader, who can manage a fast paced and diverse group of sysadmins. Workday is growing rapidly and the Manager of Internal Network & Systems will be on the front line of Workday's Internal IT organization. The ideal candidate will understand how to blend the management of enterprise technology with the mentoring of a dynamic team, will be adept at shifting rapidly between strategic and tactical roles, and will share the vision of evolving IT from its on-premise past to its future in the clouds.

Roles and Responsibilities:
⢠Identify the strategic direction for future Network & Systems initiatives
⢠Manage and mentor a growing team of 7 network & systems administrators
⢠Recruit new talent into Workday's IT organization
⢠Serve as a lead for all aspects of Workday's internal networks and systems including: Active Directory, IP Telephony, WAN & LAN, Video Conferencing, identity management, & systems administration.
⢠Drive the effort to continuously provide world class support to Workday's user community
⢠Manage the tactical queue of service requests for the Network & Systems team
⢠Oversee the processes for deployment, maintenance, and support for all internal systems and services
⢠Evolve the effort for continuous documentation of Workday's networks and systems

The ideal candidate will meet the following technical requirements
(10 + years of experience with the following):
 * Enterprise network architecture & equipment including: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Xirrus, ShoreTel
 * Windows and Unix system administration
Demonstrated core competency in the following areas:
- Strong knowledge of SaaS/Cloud technologies
- Administration and configuration of common open source applications including: Apache, MySQL, SAMBA, BIND, OpenLDAP, Sendmail, & OpenSSH.
- SAN, NAS, and FC architecture.
- Identity management: Including AD, LDAP, and SSO technologies
- Xen App and Desktop or other similar virtualization technologies.
- x86/x64 hardware (Dell 1950, 2950, R300, R4xx, R7xx)
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Able to create and refine extensive project documentation
- Strong understanding of best security practices
