Manager of Internal Systems Integration & Automation
Cvent, Inc. is seeking an Internal Systems and Project Management expert for our headquarters located in McLean, VA. This person will be responsible for leading project teams through all phases of system implementation, starting from project initiation to project closure. They will analyze internal systems needs by working with various process owners throughout the organization, then creating logical requirements for software/hardware systems that will provide a solution for the needs of moderate to complex, critical business processes. They translate the requirements to functionality which ensures the system can be purchased, tested and implemented to meet actual business needs. They will also create documentation for existing systems. This position does not involve hands-on programming, but focuses on the analysis, definition and logical design and implementation of internal SaaS systems. This position reports to the Director, Corporate Controller.
Quickly understands the business issues and data processing challenges of the organization and industry.
Develops and recommends functional requirements specifications related to the proposed internal system solution, including systems which are already selected and need to be implemented as well as future internal systems needs, which must be evaluated, analyzed and selected.
Translates the business/user requirements into detailed functional specifications, ensuring that business rules are clearly defined through business logic, examples and diagrams. These requirements serve as the "build-to" specification for development and the "test-to" specification for use case testing.
Meets with data subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure the essential data is available in support of defined business requirements. Identify business interdependencies and ensure proper coordination.
Employs problem-solving, statistical and root-cause analysis techniques to assist with issue resolution.
Works with project team to identify required changes and recommend potential solutions.
Serves as primary technical point of contact with management and various team members on project from project inception through completion.
Develops project schedules, coordinates project status meetings, manages and collaborates with resources in all phases of the project lifecycle. Facilitates project deadlines and schedules.
Drives resolution of issues and escalates when necessary.
Tracks functional requirements status throughout the project life-cycle.
Coordinates global/national efforts to implement selected software solution and ensure project and program deliverables are met.
Produces metrics which provide management insight into the requirements process.
Ensures systems are compliant with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
Bachelor's degree in related field required, graduate degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in successfully creating and managing projects of large scale, complexity and big business impact.
A proven track record in leadership, and global project management.
PMP and/or Six Sigma certification is desirable.
Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders across a large global business.
An understanding of corporate culture and how to promote change within a complex global business.
Excellent communicator with an ability to lead a diverse team effectively to achieve complex business objectives.
Ability to drive an agenda of collaboration and partnering.
Able to deliver informative, well-organized presentations.
Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
Identifies critical issues/risks with ease.
Exhibits an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
Manages change effectively and successfully juggles multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and able to work well with a team.
Self-starter who is action oriented and possesses a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment.
Skilled utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including WORD, EXCEL, VISIO and PROJECT.
Experience using Salesforce.com and Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) a plus.
