Description: We are looking for a unique sales leader to lead the Retail Market Development team. This role is responsible for the day to day management of the Market Developers and the overall team goals. This person will be engaged in employee coaching and training, team leadership, prospecting (cold calls and emails), tradeshow/event execution, territory reviews, business analysis, and market sizing for the vertical they are managing. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Market Development and other key team members to continuously evolve the sales strategy and achieve quarterly/annual sales objectives. The Manager of Retail Market Development will also assist with the successful hiring, training, and management of the Retail Market Development team. We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate, energetic, organized, driven and who loves constant growth and change.

Essential Functions:

- Assist Market Developers in day to day business communication (both email and calls) with C and VP level prospects.
- Provide leadership and management to the Market Development team that encompasses the mission and core values of the company.
- Measure and monitor critical sales activities within their vertical on weekly basis.
- Interact regularly with sales leadership team to help ensure Retails Market Development priorities and needs are aligned with our direction as a company.
- Coordinate team trainings that will expand the groups skill set to achieve sales objectives tied to long-term organizational goals.
- Perform quarter employee evaluations and engage in regular coaching and feedback with Market Developers.
- Proactively commends and/or corrects employee behaviors which impact the business.
- Help recruit, select and develop a high impact sales people for the team.


Job Requirements

- Education and Experience
o Bachelors degree
o MBA is preferred
- Required Experience
o 5-10 years work experience in sales and sales management.
o Expertise in selling and managing salespeople of early-stage products.
o Heavy Salesforce.com experience. General knowledge of infrastructure, reporting, workflow and dashboards to run efficiencies on the team.
o Highly organized and can handle many business objectives at once.
- Desired Experience
o Selling to or managing a team that has sold to retailers and other viable verticals.
o Selling or managing a team that has sold eCommerce-focused solutions.
o Fast paced SaaS selling experience.
- Desired Skills
o Expert user of current web/online communication technologies, including browsers, search, email, instant messaging, and forums/message boards
o Advanced user of new and emerging web/online communication technologies, such as Jigsaw, LinkedIn, Hoovers, Facebook, Eloqua and Twitter for prospecting purposes.
o Passion for technology, particularly online communication/collaboration technologies.
o Dedicated to winning and passionate about the job at hand.
